"Goldenleaf" Deflex Recurve Bow
« on: February 08, 2014, 10:22:10 pm »
This bow is for my daughter.  She's been shooting a 36lb hickory long bow and having trouble pulling it.
I told her "Well I'll just have to make you new one."  She's been asking and asking "..So....when are you going to make MY bow?"

I finally did.

This is "Goldenleaf"  I made "Silverleaf" a while back and this one is similar.   It has an Elvish theme to it.

Maple
Deflex Recurve
64" TTT
30lbs @ 28"
Tip overlays are horn
Tooled Leather Handle - dyed brown and painted gold highlights
Scroll work painted with metallic gold paint
The name of the bow "Goldenleaf" painted with metallic gold paint in Elvish on the belly of the top limb
My daughters name and the word bow painted on the belly of the bottom limb.

While I was working on it she kept asking me "who is that for?"  I kept saying "It's for me."   And yes it was for me.  For me to give to her.

When I gave it to her she grinned ear to ear.
We shot it yesterday and had a good time.  She said it was much easier to shoot and thinks it's awesome.

Thanks for looking.

With a rhinestone studded white cape, a sneer on my upper lip and my left knee swivelling, all I can say in Elvish is, "Thank ya, thank ya ver' mush for posting that bow".  Elvish, apparently, is IN DA HOUSE!

I really love the way you sculpted the grip, fades, and the ornamentation in that area.  The tips are beyond cool, entering deep into the uber-cool zone.

You must have been going for Father of the Millenium with this one! (I think you have a serious shot at it too!)
