Kanuka is a fairly common tree here, it acts as a regenerating parent tree for regrow forest and tends to favor the drier east coast. Theres a 135 lb bow built out of kanuka by a guy from the nz war bow society and it sounds like it's holding it's own amongst his yew bows.
The kiwi was draw on with sharpie pen.
I'm working with a few other native woods I'm hoping to show you guys in the future.
