Thanks guys for all the kind words, this was a lot of fun! I thought tillering would be pretty hard with something this small but a real sharp knife made it fairly simple. the hardest thing for me was getting a draw weight I could barely measure! ended up weighing random objects and suspending them from the string on a hook. 2.5# was the lightest and 4# was the heaviest at full draw for this sliver.
IdahoMatt: if you do make one for him, heavy HEAVY arrows with WIDE arrow nocks for easy placement on the string for chubby little fingers. A large arrow shelf and cottonball field or house tips. this thing shoots far better than it should and can really fling some wood! Also a few talks about "not the dog not the cat, only the targets daddy made"
Probably safer to use outside only but negetive degree weather puts quite the damper on young archers/bowyers. so mommys annoyed, the animals are hidding and we are indoor hunting for balloons and pillows!
