HOT BOX QUESTION?

This is probably a dumb question, but is it ok to use my box to incubate my snakeskin backed hickory bows? I keep the temp between 95-100. Just wondered if it would affect the TB3 i used for the snakeskins.

TBIII shouldn't be affected below 150 deg. If you are just keeping the moisture out probably 85Deg would be plenty. I have a small fan in my box to help keep things dry.

Just freshen it up. I live in Louisiana.  Humidity is an issue. So from time to time I put my bows in my box just to make sure I'm keeping the humidity in them to a minimum. I store them inside my cental air/heat house which helps as well.

It takes only a few days for a bow-sized piece of wood to reach EMC again. Yes, you can force dry it to a lower moisture content than EMC, but it'll be back up again in a matter of days. If you need to win a flight competition tomorrow it may be useful, but I'd be hesitant to warm up a bow that has Titebond glue in it over and over again.

With heat and A/C in your house you shouldn't need the extra time in the hot box. Slid the bow under your bed when you're not using it.

Be sure to check the hidden corners of your box occasionally, as snakes like hot weather and if you are incubating rattlers, there could be problems.
