Very nice elb. Worked lots of poor ash recently loads of early growth and little late. Convinced this is the key with ash. Thin early thick late is the only way to go and your stave has it.
I bought 2 staves and both made shooters,but i can see what you mean.
The earlywood is brittle and crumbly so you dont want much of that.

I have bows from 35 up to 70# i shoot regularly so thats the price to pay

Very nice ! Beautiful and graceful in it's simplicity! Will you be adding some beeswax finish or similar? I believe your beautiful burnish job will have been for not, if exposed to water.
I will put some finish on it,just havent decided what yet
