Privet Bow R.I.P.
« on: January 23, 2014, 12:40:31 am »
I managed to break the Privet bow that I posted a couple months ago. This was the first time I've broken a bow. I had intended to take it on an evening squirrel hunt, and I was practicing in the yard when it broke. I was at full draw, and right before I released, the top limb shattered. I had shot at least 500 arrows through this bow, and I thought the tiller looked good. I guess it's just part of it. I had fun making it, fun shooting it, and fun hunting with it. and now I have an excuse to build another one. :)

Mike, it is obvious that you have the full blown version of the bow building bug, sir. When one of them decides to "lay down on the job" you are already building a replacement 8) Good for you, ya got the right outlook.

Thanks for the replies everyone. ;)

That sounds like a good idea. I think I'll give it a try and see how it turns out.

I feel your pain brother.  This will make your next one that much better for sure.
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?
