Rasp handle...
« on: January 16, 2014, 02:12:21 pm »

First post in a long time...

Purchased this Dean Torges style Nicholson bowyer's rasp from 3Rivers a time back; a tool I highly recommend!
It came with a real crappy set of handles that I just finished to change.

Very cool Frank! And durable, good thinking.
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realize we cannot eat money.

Very nice,I have made several out of Osage to replace the cheap ones but may try that on the next one.  :) Love it. :) Handy/durable and looks good to boot, hard to beat that. :)

I love making file handles. I save every piece of scrap osage that has a handle length in it, much better than throwing it on the burn pile.

You can make two ferrules out of a 35 cent copper pipe coupler from Lowe's by cutting it in half.

There is something about turning wood on a lathe that is relaxing and therapeutic.
