I don't think I know enough to say "I love that profile" very often, but I love that profile Mr. Pearlie. Thanks and I will be looking for the caul too. I think I better make one somtime soon.

I was asked a few times to snap a pic of the caul I used for this bow. The ruler is 36". It drops about 3/4" 18" from center, each way. Then it drops off to a total of about 3". Its 68" long.

Pearl did you use steam or heat before clamping it down ?

Thanks.

Dry heat Elijah. That's all I use unless Im bending static tips in a bow.

Just made a similar caul for a 70" Osage I got going, Pearlie.  How big are the clamp holes?  2"?   Got about 3/4 of the bow clamped down last night and the last heavier limb-end reflex will be tonight.  Working with cauls is fun, but I need more clamps!!!

You aren't keeping that bow?! ???

I think mine are 1 1/2" holes Steve? But not all clamps are the same. Check yours out and bore them accordingly. I use bar clamps mostly, they wont crush the belly. Even a padded C-clamp will dent the belly if you have to tighten them down enough.
