Had him over today so we could bend the bow in the handle to line up tips. He saw a stave of osage in the corner and asked about how hard it was to chase a growth ring. This stave has about 17 growthrings to the inch, so......of course, I told him it was easy-peasy.
He screwed up a couple times, but his tool control is good and his technique was almost surgical. I showed him another stave with much better rings and he just laughed at himself and me, of course. It seems he can take a joke.
