Steel tubes for take-downs
« on: January 11, 2014, 02:03:55 am »
Does anyone know where to get some steel tubes with the right dimensions for a take-down bow? If you do, please tell me where to get them and the dimensions of the tubing. I have been trying and failing again-and-again at the fiberglass sleeve take-down, so I want to try steel tubing.

Explain how you are failing. A glass sleeve is potentially easier.

Every time I try the glass sleeve it either breaks or the fit isn't tight enough. I am going to try it again and I will try and build a jig to hold the pieces while I wrap so I can get a tighter wrap, but I still would like to try tubes.

There is an excellent build along for a glass sleeve in the how two section, or you could buy a sleeve Carson at Echo archery sells the original, I've used it and it works great, bub
failure is an option, everyone fails, it's how you handle it that matters.
