they built a primitive bow last night...they are either very good at it..or it was edited to heck and back!!

I didn't watch it but I am sure its edited quite a bit.  On the Mountain Men show the one guy built a sinew backed bow over night and was shooting it the next day.  Lots of TV magic....
I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

you gotta see it...maple branch..drawknife...wisk wisk..a bow!!!  no sanding...sealed with tru oil looks like...shooting it seconds later...i was mystified!!  and quite frankly dazzled.  lol

Just saw The Bow episode...

This one was a Lot more believable than the Sinew Backed bow that was built and shooting in a week's time.

Looked like a VM bow...
They did call it Maple...

They called the guy helping him build it a Master Bowyer and World Renowned Archer...

And it did look like a fairly straight piece of wood.

Even thought its totally embelished and he actually has a home in town, I still like it. I can learn a bit from it!

Just type Mick Dodge in Yahoo and you will find out more. He spends a lot more time in the woods than a house. But he isn't self sufficient by any stretch. He would starve to death in a hurry. Ever notice he is almost always on some type of foot path? That's not just from him using it.
