When you get over to the house you will have to shoot the 4 new bows I have. One from Bear, two from James Parker and one I made. And I'll hand you my Primo stuff, don't see much mulching from you , lately. And, there is black flint everywhere here near the Dead Sea. I've found small pieces so far and it's all been worked.

I only hope to be able to match 'em up like that in time...
You are really getting a reputation for quality.  Very beautiful work.
Look forward to hopefully catching up and doing some work when you get home.

Three black are dacite, the two brown are some kind of Texas rock i would guess, they came from cobbles.

Wow is right that is amazing work.

How long does it take you to make one with that much detail?

These take me a couple hours each minimum. I would say 2 hrs average. I know I am probably the slowest knapper known to mankind but I have found I break them or end up with thicker points if I rush it. So I prepare every platform both in the percussion and the pressure stage. I abrade in both stages too. Once the platform is correct I push the flake. What takes up the time is that you can get a good thin preform with percussion but to make narrower points you have to bring it in with pressure. To keep the point narrow in this stage I can't afford the edge to crumble so I prepare tiny little platforms just like in the percussion stage.
