Raised a splinter, kids OS , am I doomed?

I've been pestering Carson for a couple of weeks now, so I thought I'd bring this to the gang.
Just finished up tiller a little 48" OS ,very light, about 15 lbs @20".
Decided to shoot it a little, overdrew it, and raised a splinter about 6" from the fades.
Is there any hope, or is this thing doomed?
Your advice greatly appreciated.

Pics are always a help.
 Can you remove the splinter and smooth up that area with a scraper or rasp? I'd super glue the splinter first. At that low draw weight it should be OK. You could always put a wrap around that area.

I only had a splinter happen once. It was mid limb and dead center, a tiny one about 2" long and quite shallow. I glued it down and backed the limbs with brown paper bag, so far so good.

I would prob glue it down and wrap rawhide or back it with it at that location

OK guys, I'm a beginner, can someone please explain the wrapping process?

Sinew or tread wrapped around limb over splintered area, Do like Pat said and glue down the splinter prior to wrapping the limb in that area. Also dip the tread or sinew in glue while wrapping. Heres a picture that can explain it better than I can in words. In the pic. its the dark brown area that is a sinew wrap. Hope this helps you.
