This is wild "bitter cherry".  I found this stuff along the side of hwy 84 when I got out to go pee.  I had a pocket knife in my pocket and...   >:D  I took some bark!  I have used a few different kinds of cherry and it almost always turns out the same.

If you want some, I could send you some but you have to pay for shipping.

Lemm'e know, but send me a PM.

Have been thinking of backing the bow I'm working on now with cherry bark.  This build along kind of pushes me over the edge to do it!! ;D

Hope I can get the bark off of the tree, the temps just dropped to about 12 this morning. ???

Do you feel bark splices need to be wrapped or is it just for cosmetic reasons???

I can't seem to get too long of pieces of bark, as soon as the tree gets bigger the bark get very rough.

Thanks for the build along!! 8)

Lowell,

I'll send you some PRIMO bark with two stipulations:

1. You have to pay for shipping.
2. You must post your bow for everyone to enjoy.

Fair?  I know what you're thinking...  :o

Just PM me and let's get some bark out to you.

Joe

Ps.  The wrapping the splices is cosmetic, but I don't trust them to stay together if unwrapped.  Besides, I have some bark that's probably long enough for full length limbs.
