Osage in ny

Finally found it! There's some cut ones that were leaned on the tree. Looks like 50yrs old. No sapwood. Forgot pictures lol. Cut a little with my hatchet. Still looks good. Heavy as all f@$!

Can I use the pieces if the look good?

Also what should I do with it? It seems seasoned on the inside. How long should I let it dry and so on

where'd you find it? I'm in the Syracuse area, but the only osage I've heard of was on the Cayuga College golf course, my friend transferred to my school from there.

If they are already cut and 50 years old it is seasoned.

The wood is seasoned after 50 years but if they have been touching the ground it will have a high moisture content. Store it out of the weather and off the ground for a while before bringing it into your shop. You might want to take the back down to a good ring and seal it well.
