8 point wood carving

Hi folks,
I was plesantly suprised to find this forum and see others neat work.
I carved this deer last fall. The deer wood is sycamore from down by the river.
The plack is redwood I chainsaw slabbed when I was out in California.
The horns are from a skull I found.

Thanks Ben,
I am new here and may have made a mistake posting this here.
Although carving is a primitive skill I may be in default using a chain saw
for slabbing and quick material removal.
If this is a bad thing I hope you all will set me straight.
thanks Zuma

That is uncommonly sweet! Love it, Zuma. Feel free to post more of your artwork!
After all, it has no wheels, no fiberglass, no sights!

lol
Thanks so much. I was actually inspired to do a deer by one I saw from an archeological dig at a muesum in Florida years ago. I was taking deer with bow and arrow when I was 15 or 16.
I have a dep respect for the creatures and love filming them and their antics.
Here is a horse I did out of sycamore also. I don't shoot em but American Indians
rode them while hunting buffalo with spear and bow. LOl.

Thanks Ryan and Dog
I have a few more up my sleeve but the Dall or Bighorn sheep
is next if I can find a way to keep the horns from splitting or cracking
with the grain of the tree.

I wood (baaaad pun) love to see you do a pronghorn antelope. With just a little touch of a woodburner, you could fill in the black mask and the cheek patches. I can almost see it now.
In fact, I want your contact information. I wanna hire you to do my next antelope mount!!!
