Christmas Plains Indian Bow

This is one I finished Sunday afternoon.  It is for a friends son who is 9 years old.  His mother is of Indian heritage and quite knowledgeable about Indian material culture.  She wanted a bow for he and his dad for Christmas.  I posted dads bow a week or so ago and she picked them both up Monday morning, along with some arrows.  Santa will leave them under the tree.  This is some type of Maple sent to me from Kansas, I believe it's Sugar Maple.  Never worked with Maple before and so this was a bit of an experiment.  Well pleased with the wood.  It's surprisingly flexible and very light.  Somewhat wamperty in shape with a pretty serious knot on the bottom limb, roller coasters and some prop twist, but despite all that...it's a bow.  Hope he and dad enjoy shooting them together!
Sugar Maple
Bendy handle
52 inches NTN
1 3/4 inches wide thru the middle 1/3 tapering to 5/8 inch tips
30ish pounds at 24 inches tillered out to 25 inches
Sinew wraps
Horse hair tuft
Left a little cambium on for color, finished with spray poly
Fastflite string.

Slimbob, that is absolutely outstanding, sir. Not only is the decoration just perfect but so is the braced profile......that leaves the full draw. It is about as close as a fella can make a "half circle" not to mention them string angles, past 90 and got to believe ya got every bit of that bow. Just beautiful
