Just messing!
I want to make a bow that the abbreviation (hbi, bbi, etc) spells something....but I failed
Right onto the bow then.....
It's a hickory backed ipe with black walnut tapered core lams, reverse tapered maple tip lams, black walnut power lam, osage and buffalo horn for the tips. Handle is made up of greenheart, black walnut, padauk and sycamore.
50# @ 27 inch and 62 ntn.
This bow was an experiment to try and make the lams tapered correctly so that need little to no tillering is needed after glue-up....It shoots like a dream, even though it's a bit wonky.....I need to adjust the rate of taper on the tips and have a fraction more thickness mid limb but it's not too far off for a first attempt.
Enjoy
