Smoke, the paints were all just artist acrylics and the base coats on three of the bows was a color wash using acrylic glazing medium in attempt to make the backround look like old leather. Hard to explain how to do it but basically you
lay down one solid color then blot on one or more other colors mixed with the glaze and manipulate those with a very soft brush moving them around to get the effect you like. I always finish with a few coats of clear finish to protect over everything.
