So to lighten myself up after yesterdays break, I thought I'd take some pics of a bow I finished shortly and post them here. Ok?
It's my first board bow. I attempted one before and it lifted a splinter too bad to fix. But this one was smooth building. I got the board from half eye, thank you Rich
A nice piece of grey elm. I have two more I'm really looking forward to.
The layout is paddelish, although it's not a short bow. The handle and the outer limbs bend only slightly, most bend takes place in the wide mid section of the limbs. It's a light and swift bow.
I backed it thinnly with silk fibers, and cause they looked crappy, covered it up with the bark. The wood is stained with walnut pods and sealed with linseed oil. Tips and strikeplate are bone.
