Steam bending

There is a great article on steam bending in this month'a FINE WOODWORKING magazine.  For those of us interested in recurving, the author shows how to make sharp curves in wood up to 1" thick without tearing the outside curves.

Good to see ya on again Dan. :), it's been a while.I will check it out also,seen it on TV once,I think they were making rocking chairs,amazing how much bend they could put in the wood with the right amount of steam and time. :)

To bad i dont have a place to set up a rig like that,if you try that in the house i guess the wallpaper will curl up and fall down.  :-\

That video is stunning. Amazing how long they have the wood out of the heat yet they still bend without any problems.
