Osage lumber

Does m e one know where to get an osage board. I wanna try a lam bow. I can old find small pieces online and large quantities.

3rivers has some. just found out they did the other day. they have handle size and they have whole boards you can back that i guess are pretty good.

If you have a Woodcraft store nearby, check their boards.  I've lucked out there before.

We only have a lowes and Home Depot. And lumber yards. None carry anything like that. I am looking for a piece about 64"-66" long and 1 1/2" wide. Can't find n e thing like that online. I haven't checked 3 rivers but I'm guessing it's more than a hardwood dealer.

  I buy some on e ebay and I buy some from private lumber companies that I search out on line. I just bought one that is 1 1/4 thick by 8" wide by 6 ft long. Cost was $120.00 I usually do a little better than that but I was desperate.

Yea that's the reason why I just started making my own boards from raw wood. Don't get so fixated on boards full length of a bow though. I look for boards 36-40 inches that are twice as thick as I need for a core, and then rip the board in half thickness wise and splice them together with a z splice. Billets are actually better in that the limbs than have a mirrored grain pattern and thus behave the same way when tillering. Not to mention finding/making a good grained knot free board in shorter lengths is much easier.
