Headed to the cabin and then to Buck Hollow tomorrow for the Spring Fling, should be some cold fun, about 4 degrees this morning with wind chill below zero (S) (=) but supposed to be a little better tomorrow, we will see. Life is Good.  :)

Great weekend, very cold for us but had a good time all the same. Shawn came down and we decided it was a good day to smoke a couple of hides, 1 for him and 1 for me. I have a new smoker set up I wanted to try for one of my old camp stoves, my old one worked well but the fire and adding punk wood was hard to manage, this new set up work great and much easier to manage.  :) I needed to stich up a couple of arrow holes in mine before smoking, so I stripped some sinew and went to work in the warm of the kitchen. :) :)

Our new TwinOaks sticker, back to our old original logo. Then off to Buck Hollow for the Spring Fling, it was cold but fun. While I was there got gifted 2 nice Timber skins and got to see a lot of good friends,so it was well worth the trip. ;) :) :)

Got my hide off and it turned out ok, had a few light spots in the shoulder area so need to address that. Annie and Don's Shepard still at the tug of war over bones, they never stop. ??? :) While I was tanning my deer hide I decided to tan a ground hog hide I had to make a bag or something from, it turned out nice and should make some thing nice to use.  :) I also put the finishing touches on my new knife.  :)

I got the hide taken care of by opening it up and just smoking the areas that needed more color, it work out fine and the hide is ready for use now. Kept a good fire going as it was much needed all weekend, Sister really enjoyed it that's for sure.  :)

Thanks for posting Pappy. It really does feel different looking at the pictures now that I have been there.

Those hides look great. So do those moose stakes.
