Bowmo copy cat
« on: November 24, 2013, 05:46:54 pm »
I am more of a flint knapper than a bow maker because osage makes sick/ill but I really like it. When I was at the skunk river knapin I meet bowmo and really liked his bow so I did my best to make a copy of it. It is thinner than my tradition style of bow. His bow shot real fast and very smooth. So anyway this was the best I could do on my first try. It shoots a 540 grain arrow at 163 fps (sure to drop with time) it is47# @ 25.5 and is 62 inch tip to tip. I will post a couple more pictures later tonight.

Just noticed a mistake it is 47@24.5 because I stopped an inch before full draw. The fps was 163.

Howdy,, I think it looks pretty and the fps you're reporting is hellishly fast for that draw and pull weight.    Ron

Thats kinda what I thought I am sure it will drop as it is shot in. I'm just not great at getting that final polished look.

AWESOME!
Talking trees. What do trees have to talk about, hmm... except the consistency of squirrel droppings?

Nice bow and I agree with M-P that is very fast arrow speed for the draw weight. With that kind of work you should make more bows.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

Very good bow.
if you weren't allergic to the dust you could make some fine bows.
Nice width, nice bend and low set. Excellent.

Lol bought 3000-6000 at an auction this summer. The guy did primitive archery and I was the only archer there (me an my buddy Paul) we were bid up to 21 dollars then we won.

We are going to give them away to the new bow builders that come over and build bows. We have four new guys in the group.
