Hickory stave question

I have a hickory stave and my question is should I de-crown the back? I have the belly pretty flat but can't get any floor tiller...yet. Thanks for any and all advice.

Weather you decrown it or not really depends on the size of the tree that it came from, and what style of bow you plan to make out of it.

Right now it's 64 in end to end. I'm just getting started. I want a 64" ntn around 50#'s. It's 2" wind goring to 3/4". What do you guys think? I have a tendency to create a hinge some where. Trying to avoid that.  Again, any advice would be great.

The crown is to your advantage unless you sawed the stave instead of splitting it out !
