Little Osage Recurve
« on: November 03, 2013, 04:07:33 pm »
Osage selfbow recurve. 60" ntn, 31#@27", bone tip overlays. Dark brown wrapped leather lace grip, with black calf hair arrow pass. Semi-gloss poly finish. 406 grams. Light as a feather, and shoots hard for such a light weight bow. At this weight, obviously no set. Made for my wife, Linda. I think she's in love!

Couple more... and money shot. Had a few challenges with string alignment, but nailed it in the end. Had to make some prop twist corrections. Gently flipped tips and corrections with steam.

Added another pic of taper profile: 1.25" at fades, to 0.5" tips. Straight forward pyramid taper.

Yes sir thats a nice little bow. A light draw weight osage in that design with the proper weight matched arrow can be a snappy shooter for sure and an accurate shooter too. That looks to be one of those, nicely done.
I ain't broke but I'm badly bent.

Looking good. Hopefully she loves the bowyer just a bit more than the bow.

Beautiful bow!  I love lightweight bows, and I'm really excited to see these self-recurves that you amazing bowyers on this site seem to make so effortlessly.  They're really gorgeous.
