Built a mini rocket stove
« on: November 03, 2013, 07:06:08 pm »
Hey all, if you dont know what a rocket stove is, its a stove with an insulated burn chamber. They burn really really hot and thereby efficiently, I've been really interested in them and finally scrounged up the materials to build a small one out of a paint can, three soup cans, and some clay and perlite for insulation(only thing I paid for was the perlite). I needed a good, concentrated heat source for heat treating and arrow shaft straightening, and couldn't do it inside due to my apartments extra-sensitive smoke alarms, so I built this little bugger. Really cool concept, and it works great! I'll have to see how long the inner cans last, apparently they disintegrate from the heat eventually.
