Simple string keeper

Here's a simple string keeper that's much quicker to make than the leather hood type:




It's made from 1/8" shock cord, a ~3/8" diameter wood bead and a bit of B50 bow string material using this jig:

The key is to stretch the shock cord before lashing up with the bowstring material to form the eye of the keeper.  Recess the overhand knot in the shock cord in the bead via a counterbore in the bead.  Add drop of thick CA glue to the knot before pulling it into the counterbore.

Here is a much simpler one, works as well as any. Just a piece of lacing and two beads. The lacing does need to be thick enough to be a tight fit to the beads.
