How's everybody doing?  I'm new to the forum and have been learning my way around a piece of novaculite here in Afghanistan with Seminole Wind.  This first post is a flack arrowhead that I started learning pressure flaking on.  The shaft is Australian Pine (something we found over here).  The feathers are from some ducks that were hanging out around a pond nearby.  We wrapped the arrowhead and feathers with dental floss and gorilla glue!  We straightened the shaft over a small fire and then finished the process over a candle flame.

Just wanted to share this OEF Arrow.

I live in Northern Virginia, if any fellow knappers live nearby I would appreciate some pointers on local rock worth knapping.  I got the boppers and antler waiting for me at the house.

Welcome, Elijah told me about how you were bitten by the bug. That's a darn good looking point and arrow. And that Australian pine makes a pretty good bow, too. And Elijah has another box of rocks waiting on y'all, too ;).

Looks a hell of a lot better than my first and last attempt at a knapped point. Well done.

I live in Newport News.  Not much for knapping in VA except quartz and quartzite.  There is something called "greenstone" near the mountains I have heard.  Better off buying material.
