Good Sunday!
« on: October 21, 2013, 06:10:55 pm »
So my wife and one of her buds have been trying to get the husbands together for about 4 years now.  They finally made it happen yesterday.  They come over and Doug, that's his name, gets out and we meet and talk a bit and drink a PBR and start talking and he sees all my targets through out the yard and says that his wife, Sara, told him he should bring his bow.  I says, "Hell, get it out and let's shoot". He brings out this kick ass "Genghis Nomad" made by James Parker.  I'm like DANG that's a nice bow and he says that he used to live w/ James for a few months there in NC.  Well, James was my Oooga Booga Chief in TN at the Classic in 2011.  Now we had a lot more to talk about.  Anyway, we shot for about 4 hours until it got dark then had some dinner and they had to go cuz it was a school night.  We decided that we needed to get together at least once as month and shoot, so I told him about the Scottsburg shoot that starts in January.  Looks like I got me a new shootin buddy.  All you all that go to Scottsburg will hopefully be meeting him in January.  Oh, that bow was one of the best shooting bows I've ever shot.  Man, James Parker can really make a sweet bow.  It had a bamboo belly and maple back.  Anyway, I gotta go. I'm still at work and need to get these kids outta the welding shop.  Have a gooder, I am!  ;) dpg

What's his name? I'm hoping when I get home I have one of Jame's hybrid/horn bows waiting on me. I think I still have 4 of Jame's bows and hope to have some more.

If you have to pull the trigger, is it really archery?

PMed ya his name.

It was a good day, and a good meeting.  James makes a heck of a bow and it was a definite pleasure to shoot.  Can't get his bows to load off the HuntWorthy web site though.  If you talk to him you might tell him that.

HAve a gooder, dp

Sounds like the beginnings of a long bromance.

Wipe that smirk off, I fixed it.  Meant to hit reply, not quote.  That will teach me to not proofread!

Go have yourself a DP Gratz-style Gooder!
