Have run into the term 'pike' more than once. As yet have been unable to fathom a meaning. What does it mean? As in, "Are you going to pike the bow you are building?"

basically you lop off an inch or so maybe less based on how much weight you want to gain for several purposes. I've done this and it is effective.

S'not only used for upping poundage however.  It can be used to correct sideways bend, can even out a dodgy tiller without ending up losing weight and can be a simple fix for whip-tillered bows while giving them a bit of life.
