scored some staves

the tree trimmers came today at work so i took advantage and asked for some ash and oak. two on the left is oak the rest are ash. the ash is all around 5' the long oak is like 8'. pretty straight from the front profile and minimal twist. now, do i remove the bark or just seal the ends?

May be a build along is in the future???   I'd like to see one out of that stuff. I have a lot of that available.

For me that'd be a tough group of staves. From here on the couch I maybe see a bow in the long oak, and perhaps in one or two of the Ash staves if everything goes right..., but the rest look very challenging.

I'm sure some f those will make bows but a lot with how the tree jus looks looks liku cups ale a bow out of it. That little oak doesn't look like there is enough to get a bow out of. I would split and few ends tho or just seal ends

Get the bark off or you run the risk of rot and or bugs, and seal up the back and the ends...good luck

I'm sorry man, but that looks like firewood to me. I don't want to ruin your day, but I'm just being honest. There are way too many knots in all these staves, and all appear to be limbs (trunks are better). An experienced bowyer might salvage a bow or two from all those limbs, but if you're a beginner, you are making it way too difficult for yourself by starting with this wood.

Those are big enough to splice. You can rip or split them in halves and pair up the best halves. There are several bows in there I believe.

Like others have said, there might be some bows in there but its gonna be work to find them.  Seal the ends, split them in half and remove the bark. Be careful when you're splitting or you can get big tearouts on pieces that small that will ruin the whole thing. It would be better to bandsaw them if you have access to one. If you remove the bark without splitting those in half they will probably check all over the place. Good Luck

i see bows in there, do what soy said for sealing. when ready splice some of the ash and sinew if you need to. Yeah, its not a prime piece of osage but there are some bows there.

From here i'd split the bottom straight section of the stave on the right.
The rest would warm my workshop for a while
