Thanks everyone,

It means a lot to get such great feedback. All the complementary comments are much appreciated and just add to an already highly fulfilling experience... as beadman put it i do believe i could be hooked... :-\

special thanks to everyone that gave such great advice during my build....

adb, blackhawk, pearl drums to mention just a few..... just goes to show how sharing (i.e. info) and caring (about somebody's success other than your own) can lead to great accomplishments. i don't know how i could pay you all back for the time and advice but i do believe in Karma and i'm sure your goodness will be repaid......

If any of you guys are ever in south baja get in touch and lets go hunt or fish..... >:D

Bests to all..... need to get me some more Osage shipped down and i'll be on with number 3..... Maybe a Mollegabet? or a Snaky osage character bow (something real creepy) >:D

Well as some may have noticed after the backing  and cleaning up of the skins my bow was having some slight hand shock issues we surmised that this was down to the added weight and the process causing the tiller to be slightly off... (i'll be waiting until after backing to do my final tiller with any future bows)

i started a thread titled hand shock problems and got some great advice... all is fixed up now after a little re tillering.......

The bow only lost maybe 3 - 5 lbs but shoots sweet as ever.....

Here are the re-tillered pics... two my wife just took with the Sun as backdrop. She actually caught the arrow going through the sun.. 8)

Bests and special thanks to all that helped with tips and advice throughout my build... ;)

Depends where you measure from...

from the back of bow -1/8"........

It took 1 5/8" of set or close to that after all the exercising and shooting a good couple of hundred arrows... but because of the recurved tips it has no string follow.....

 ;)

Very nice job and a great bow! The only thing I would have done differently would be to round off the back facing corners of the grip, makes a bow look slim and graceful. I was going to say "slim and sexy" but I don't think sexy applies to bow making.

I think i'll be slimming down the handle a little later today before i do a final sealing of the bow with a bees wax and hemp seed oil finish then re-sewing / lashing the handle.... the handle already fits my hand quite well due to a chamfer on the arrow pass side but some rounding on the back side could make it even better........

Bests again,

Wow! I think it against the rules to make such a good bow on just your second attempt. Well done.
