Osage orangutan bow (made meat)
« on: October 03, 2013, 07:44:34 pm »
This bow is for a friend of mine with a very long draw.  He should be getting it in the mail tomorrow.  Not quite in time for opening weekend, but the best I could do.  72" ntn 58#@32".  I m only drawing it to about 31" in the pic as I'm built more like a bear than an orangutan and couldn't draw it any further.  WDB skins and a little character.  Sorry bout the poor quality pics. Thanks for lookin!   Josh

Great looking bow Josh. Good friends are worth doing great deeds for. He must be a good one.
I found many years ago that it is much easier and more rewarding working with those that don't know anything than those that know it all.

What was the orangutan's name in 'Anywhich Way But Loose' that 70's Clint Eastwood movie?  Clyde?

That's funny as heck.  Cool bow man!   ;D

Nicely done. Looks like it would've been a tricky stave to tiller. Lucky friend.
