So I have this Osage stave one of the cleanest Osage staves I've ever seen EXCEPT one nasty large knot right near the the handle fade will be I couldn't even get the knot to one growth ring so I don't know what the heck to do the knot ends right where the fade will end what do you guys think I outta do ? I don't know If I should rasp as much of the knot away as possible or what

Just my opinion and I'm new. But that's awesome. I'd leave it. It looks like a non working part of the handle. It's almost a small burl it looks like. Bet u wouldn't see another bow like it.

I'd also do my best to include that in a static part of the bow, personally, but be sure not to let it work too much.

I wouldn't rasp it away.  Leave it proud, just sand it real pretty.  If it's not bending there you should be ok.  I have one with a similar issue and I did rasp it away, but only because it was punky wood all the way thru to the belly.  Filled with epoxy and never a problem.

I would cut the shelf in on the other side just because it would make me nervous with that knot. Looks okay as long as it doesn't bend.

I also have alittle straightening to do on this stave too but shouldn't be a problem atleast I hope knot   8)

When I say clean I mean no knots or anything but hey that curve isn't as bad as it looks most of the stave is pretty straight just towards the end of one limb it bends off to the side .... Nothing alittle steam can't fix

Do you have enough length to move your handle layout to where the knot would be in the handle instead of the fade?  I would center it in the handle if it were mine and had the length to do it.

I was gonna do that but then the bow would only be 60 inchs long
