Maple sapling
« on: October 05, 2013, 11:14:57 pm »
The other day I cut a maple sapling. I is about 3" on the big end down to about 2" . I can probably get 68" out of it. What would be a good design for a stave like this. I have made a few board bows and 1 hickory stave bow but that is about all.
    Thanks. B-dog

It's tension wood, so the crown on that should help. It'll make any flat style from flatbows to mollegabets.
50#@26"
Black locust. Black locust everywhere.
Mollegabets all day long.
Might as well make them short, save some wood to keep warm.
