Archery as Science
« on: December 06, 2007, 12:47:35 am »
A girl that works for me found out I was making self bows and started asking me questions about my hobby.  I just so happened to have a copy of PA on my desk so I let her borrow my copy.  She immediately got the idea to use archery as a science project for her son.  Since I have a young daughter too, we immediately began discussing Newton's 1st and 3rd laws (I only knew that because we discussed it at home the night before), and agreed that a home made bow is sooooo much cooler than the  balloon powered car that I have to help my daughter build this weekend.  :'(  Oh well, beats going Christmas shopping at the mall.

Sounds like a quality project and time well spent with your daughter. Good Luck.
