Didn't make the blade, but I'm pretty happy with how the handle turned out. Time to load it up with some other goodies and get it in the mail!

Great job.  I just got my handle shaped last night and the finish is now good to go.  Time to make a sheath.  I'll get on that tomorrow :)

So my original plan all went to shit and I still haven't received the blade I had made. Luckily I'm used to my shitty luck and had a plan b, when that didn't work out I had plan c, then d and so on. Well I'm on plan w now and it's almost done. I'll put some pix when I get everything done up. I made a 4 1/2" two finger skinner from a surgical steel blade I had made awhile ago. Almost a neck knife. More for display. But is still very sharp and functional. Hopefully my guy likes it

ok heres my gift, it headed south on tuesday. the knife is forged from 5160 spring steel with walnut scales and brass pins, the striker is forged from a piece of dump rake tooth.

jack bits are usually d-7 tool steel which is a super tough steel but a pain in the butt to forge unless you've got a power hammer, it's especialy good for tools like punches, hot cutters and hardies.
