Rewilding & De-extinction.
« on: September 27, 2013, 04:02:36 pm »
I previewed these TED talks for my BIO class.  Thought ya'll might enjoy if you've got some time.

http://www.ted.com/talks/george_monbiot_for_more_wonder_rewild_the_world.html

http://www.ted.com/talks/stewart_brand_the_dawn_of_de_extinction_are_you_ready.html

The de-extinction talk is very interesting to think about.  Imagine hunting a European Auroch or Wooly Mammoth someday.

Thoughts?

I saw that.  I like it.  I wish Florida panthers would make a strong rebound.
Florida to Kwajalein to Turkey and back in Florida again.  Good to be home but man was that an adventure!

Port Charlotte area is having a decent comeback, if the road kills are any indication.  Bittersweet

Thanks for posting.  I enjoyed both videos.   Jurassic park was not so far fetched huh?  I am all for de-extinction!

Typically animals that run and jump have stronger sinew.  I'd love to get to harvest one to find out, though!  Fred Flintstone rack of ribs for me, even if they tip over my picnic table!
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.
