Primitive arrow

Here's a primitive one: 520 grains total, local silex, sinew, grey heron fletch, ground iron ore and coal pigments, and a arrowwood (viburnum lantana) shaft.

I like the primitive look of this one!  I'm surprised you can get heron feathers in Switzerland.  How does it shoot?  Is there any hunting over there?

Hey sweetpa, it shoots better than I expected. It's my first stone headed arrow, that's why I'm proud enough of it to post it here  ;) The head is not as thin as could be >:( so it stands being shot. And to my surprise, it flies quite straight after about 20 feet.

But with the large fletch it does not fly too far, and on the next one I'll try mounting the head 90 turned, so it lies flat when the arrow is nocked.

Cool arrow,I always like my point straight up like that one,heard a long time ago
straight up and down was for 4 legged critters and laying flat was for man.  ;) ;D ;D ;D something about the ribs. ;) :) very nice job,love the feathers,wished we could use them  :-\
