Some from rock I picked up at Skunk River

Musings in Pedernales, Rootbeer, Fort Payne, and Georgetown that picked up from Curts Cherts at the Skunk River knap in. Some ABO some not.

Wow and he had some noce stone there. Was his last name smith? I could not remember...nice guy and a really good knapper.

That's quite a variety. That purplish dove looks just like some Bandera stuff I picked up years ago. If it was Curtis Smith he is a knapper extraordinar! And I know where his rock stash is ::).

Yea it was Smith. And yea his knapping skills are pretty much second to none. Super nice guy too.

I got with him at his knap-in at Weatherford several years back and made him show me. I never seen anybody isolate such a small platform then rare back and "smack!" such a large thin flake off! I shoulda paid more attention.

Yea his short bopper hold and straight in palm punch-like swing are really interesting to watch. He really has it dialed down.
