im' going to see my girlfriend on wednesday and it's the first time im going to see her in a month so i decided to make her something that would show how much i care about her. but what?... i looked around the workshop and saw some scraps of yew. after a few muinets of thinking i came up with the idea of making a ring. I took lots of pictures after each stage so ill let them do the talking.

the disk is 10mm wide

this is a 3/4" drill bit

drilling the hole

there was already a hole in the workbench

then it broke

so i made another one the same way, but nearer to the centre

i clamped the rasp upside down

then i dragged the ring across the rasp to remove wood. slow but safe, kinda.

getting there...

ouch, i hate rasps but i alsoo love them.

roughed out but lots of hard edges and tool marks. where's that sand paper?

30mins of sanding later

i then used a wood burning pen to burn the words "I <3 YEW" into the wood.

time for some varnish

and the final piece. there is three layers of varnish on the outside and one on the inside.
thanks everyone for looking
