7.25" Keokuk Blade
« on: September 16, 2013, 04:40:38 pm »
This is about as good as I can do with Keokuk. The top half works great, but the bottom half is tough stuff. Funny how one rock can have two grades of material in it. Note that right in the middle where the rock transitions, I had little goobers on both A & B sides.

I'll work a point down to a needle trying to get them goobers, or just breakitin half. Lol. That is a fine blade! All my keokuk is raw. No way to get it hot enough  :(.
When you come upon a track or trail you do not know, follow it to the point of knowing.

You done good with that piece! I'm not a fan of keokuck and try to avoid it for the most part. Looks like you had the right approach.
