First (and only) bow was black locust, about 40-45#. After 4 long days of working on it, the reward was shooting arrows. 1st arrow hit the hay bale. 2nd arrow hit the target. Pulled back for the 3rd arrow - CRACK!!!
There weren't any imperfections in the wood at the failure point. It just exploded from the pressure of being bent. Still had a great weekend!!
Next will be another black locust bow, and I have oak and maple curing.
