Locust Pyramid Shorty

I call this one One Nip up, One Nip down. 51" long and 50# @ 26". I backed the working limbs with rawhide for security reasons. Trust me it needed it. Slathered some acrylic paint on it for looks. I didn't heat treat this bow at all and I am still impressed with how good Black Locust is.
The bow hardly took any set.

I love you see your bows.  This one does not disappoint.  I am currently working on a BL bow love the stuff.  Not that short but very inspiring to say the least.  Nice work ;)

Wow, that is one impressive bow Jon! Gives me some hope for future projects, both for black locust and a hunting-weight shorty I'd like to pull off.

Thanks guys. I have made several "long" bows lately, but the short ones are what I like.
Briar Jumper it really is easy to get that much weight out of a short piece of wood. You just need the gonads to brace it before you would think you need to.

Fred I laid it out at 2 1/2" but narrowed it some during tillering. It finished at more like 2 3/8".

Clint that means a lot coming from you. You are no slouch buddy.

Man although its not my typical style, that short pyramids profile really does it for me. Makes me want to try one in the near future. Awesome bow!

That is a sweet bow.  I have been wanting to try that same design in osage like the one in Ham & Alleley.   That bend looks nice.
