String Grip
« on: September 13, 2013, 03:26:11 pm »
I think i slipped into a bad habit. I thought i was dealing with a bit of target panic or something, and i suppose it was/is, but i also think i know why. The grip i take on the string was slowly working it's way closer to my finger tips and i am releasing a bit early. I started to think i was getting weak or something too since it seemed like i was having trouble coming to full draw. once it dawned on me that i was barely getting a hold of the string i took a deeper hook and it felt a lot better, now i still have some form correcting to do but i think i am on the right path.

Has this ever happened to you guys?

Where do you guys hook the string? right on the first finger joint, or closer to the finger tips, maybe i have weak fingers.

First knuckle for me. I grab right unto it.

Thanks PD, I think i'll see my shooting improve. Frustrated at myself for letting this happen and not seeing the obvious and easy thing that led to other problems, oh well, onward and upward.

I put the middle of the finger pads on the string.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

I use a deep hook, first knuckle. Eliminates string plucking and makes for a cleaner more consistent release.

I think a deep hook gives you better string control.

  Your not getting weak.

I've had this problem and personal helped at least 10 or 12 people that also had target pinic.

GO DOWN 5#'S IN BOW WEIGHT FOR NOW.

This the main reason for target panic. In traditional shooters.

This will hepl you fix your problem.
