Went to the local sawmill and scored some boards,1"x8"x8' lovely straight grain for 10 bucks a piece :)! Heat treated the dickens of this one.50/50 molly,62" ttt 58@28,ebony overlayes,simple handle wrap.very smooth draw and shoots with the best groups,fastest and flattest of my bows to date.was gonna give this one to my brother,guess he can have one of my other bows!lol! Thanks for looking.

Great looking Molly! I am currently working on one myself. Just waiting on payday so I can go buy some dog bones for rawhide backing.

Did you heat treat the working limbs, or just the tips? How much of a difference does heat treating make?

Elm takes heat treating very well and I believe it helps preformance wise.this bow took bout 3/4 of set and without the treatment I would suspect double that.yes I cooked the lever black in order to hold the mild recurves and the working limb just dark brown.took almost 2 hours a side.couple more pics

Good job on that one. I love that heat gun sheild bushy! Great way to contain heat. Im guessing you have to watch it closely?

Yeah p/d I watched it from a stool 2' away!lol! I think the sticky one side foil tape does help concentrate the heat and speeds up the process a bit.the spec are 4" handle ,fades @ 1-i/4 and 2" for entire working limb.thx's for the kind words guys!

Nice bow.
you could lose quite a bit of weight at the transition from working limb to tip. It's surprising how little extra thickness these bows need there.

Nice job! Like the heat box, good idea. I have a 10 yr old daughter that gave me a Cinderella pencil like that that I use ;D
