Killer tiller! Love that bow!
"The bow is the old first lyre,
the mono chord, the initial rune of fine art
The humanities grew out from archery as a flower from a seed
No sooner did the soft, sweet note of the bow-string charm the ear of genius than music was born, and from music came poetry and painting and..." Maurice Thompso

Thanks Josh, Steve, Clint and Bill.

Josh and Clint, seems we were all working on a shorty osage at the same time. I'm just slower.  haha  Great minds think alike.  ;)

Badly Bent and Gaur it's not going to Ill. or Minn.  Sorry.  Only 47 more states to guess.  >:D

Thanks CMB and Arrowind

Thanks IdahoMatt.

Soy, haha  I used that same censored word a lot in the building of this bow.  Back story: I started with a 66" stave, then realized my recipient would prefer a shorter bow.  So I cut it to 62 inches. I didn't want to over tax my abilities on a trade bow.  I did want to flip the tips.  When I thinned the bow to floor tiller there was a grain island  on the belly right where the bend would be for the tip to flip.  It was telling me that it would kick a splinter in a heart beat. So, I scraped out that island.  Well, the tip was too thin to make the weight I wanted. *censored word* I shortened it again and flipped the tips. Low and behold, the other limb lifted a splinter. *insert all the censored words you can think of* When I scraped out the splinter, once again the tip was too thin. Lots of *censored words* and adult beverages to ponder the problem.  My choices: an extra long knock overlay, a belly overlay or shorten the bow AGAIN.

I shortened the bow leaving me with 53" to make a 26" draw bow.  It's doable, but was in doable by me?  I'd never attempted a bow that short.  So much for staying in my comfort zone.  I'm happy it worked out.

Thanks Grady.

Chris, thanks for the encouragement.  Loosely translated I believe it was something like, "Quit wining and go make a bow out of that piece of wood." haha
