I'm thinking it matters how deep the grip is. I have 3 that I've done that are still 1 1/2" and can't foresee any problems. The 4th one only 1/2" deep I'm working on is a test. It was glued up with urac, 2 courses of sinew top and bottom 8" long and then wrapped with 2 layers. I was going to finish with a deer rawhide grip. After a month of waiting I tested it with a floor tiller and heard a sound I didn't like. I don't know if it was the sinew doing it's thing or the osage. I might put it on the tree and stand back
So far I haven't had the gizmo's to see what happens.
