Too much bend in handle?

So I'm making a bendy handle bow that I flipped the tips on. 66 1/2" long. The stave had a thin spot right where the handle is and I'm afraid it may be bending too much? I couldn't even clean it all the way up. I scraped till it was smooth and didn't even shape it.
Do I have options?
I was thinking of cutting it in half and making takedown sleeves. Or just joining them with a pipe in the middle and not make a take down. Or should I just live with it? I was also told to wrap it with twine and glue to help stiffen it. Just wanted some other opinions. Ill try and take a pic later
I understand if I do that it won't be a bendy handle.

If it's not a big dip and isn't bending too much, you could try heat treating that one spot to stiffen the area.
You could also scoop out a chunk of the handle and inlay a bigger chunk, then rasp it down to the thickness you wanted without the dip.

What are the actual dimensions at the thin spot,(width & depth) and what would it be if it wasn't there?

If it's osage it'll pop off won't it. The area is about 1" or so. But the back is almost a triangle shape. Ill get a pic later
